A Paranormal First For API

Went out yesterday morning to take some pictures at one of our local parks called River View Park.  My intent was to catch some photos of the resident black squirrels who live there.  My stake out wasn’t very successful although I did enjoy listening to the birds.  They were an amazing chorus of quite a variety of birds.

Didn’t see a single squirrel so I walked back to car and left.  Now wouldn’t you know it … as I was leaving and driving down the final bit of the exit drive … there’s a big fluffy tailed black squirrel playing on a tree!!  It was as if it was taunting me … “Ha ha!  You didn’t get me, did ya?”  I just sighed and vowed to return another day to get a capture on my camera.

I do have to say that it was one of the prettiest black squirrels I’ve seen there.  They tend to be thinner and have a less fluffy tail than the regular squirrels but this one was really pretty … full bodied … and a much fluffier tail than usual.  I will definitely be back and take more time next time.

As I was headed home I passed a local cemetery and something just told me to pull in.  I didn’t … I kept on going … but didn’t get far.  Within three blocks I found myself turning around and going back.  As soon as I pulled in I could feel the energy there at that moment.  I had never been to this cemetery before so I do not know if the energy is always that high there or if it just happened to be on this day.

I always carry my equipment with me and try to be prepared in case the occasion arises that we have an opportunity to help someone or just find ourselves in an interesting place.  So here I was on this particular day, finding myself in a cemetery that I hadn’t planned to visit.

As I sat there in the car getting a feel for the place I could feel the energy so strong.  The best way I can describe it would be like this.  Remember those old horror movies where one of the things they would torture you with was the sliding walls?  You would be put into a room … hear the door lock … and then the walls would begin to close … sliding in toward you on each side … that is how this energy felt to me.  That doesn’t mean it was anything bad.  It was just a very strong presence.  One of the reasons that we have good experiences, I believe, is based on the fact that we never assume any energy we experience is bad.  Sometimes they come across strong because of a strong desire to communicate.  That was the situation that I was experiencing on this day.

I took lots of photographs, did some digital recordings and used the Spirit Box communication scanner.

Before I had even gotten out of the car I experienced a sighting of paranormal activity!

I had a first experience for API!!!  I experienced our first battery drain!!!  Yes!!!  It was very exciting!!!  As investigators we found this to be AWESOME!!!  Lol …  We can laugh at ourselves but it really was a first for us and it really was exciting!  Of course then I had to stop what I was doing and go replace batteries … which was a pain … but I was smiling the whole time I was doing it!

I will write more about this later.  As you know, we are writing a book about our experiences and I will cover it more thoroughly there. 

I have evidence to review for a client before I can review what I got today.  I will let you know what I find at a later date when I have had time to review photos and recordings.

Who's Cooking?

As a paranormal investigator you typically get all kinds of calls from all kinds of people.  These can be people who are just experiencing paranormal activity of some kind so they call for help.  These can also be people who have done something to invite the spirits in and then have a problem because they accidentally let in something that is now causing them problems. 

You really can’t invite energies in and then be startled by the strength of their magnitude when they are there.  You must always be conscious of what you are doing.  Be aware because like everything in life, there are consequences to everything … sometimes they’re good consequences and sometimes they’re bad consequences.  Sometimes we know what the consequences are going to be and other times we have no idea.  So you have to be careful.  You have to be careful because when you open the door you cannot always control what comes through.

Locations can be haunted.  People themselves can be haunted and it not be based on a location at all.  Sometimes people have abilities that they are unaware of and spirits are drawn to them because of that.

Sometimes people are experiencing things when they do a specific activity or task.  This can be in their home, work, the car … anywhere.  During an investigation one of the things that can be done is to recreate the situation in hopes that the activity can be recorded and possibly even be able to interact with the spirit or entity that is there.

It can be very frightening to interact … especially when you have not initiated the interaction.  It has been the experience of API that most spirits are those who are just wanting you to know that they are there.  They don’t even have to be anyone that you have known.  It can be anyone.  Sometimes they can be quite mischievous in their dealings with you. 

One thing that is a little bit disconcerting is to hear your own name being said.  To realize that they know who you are.  They know your name.  It is specifically you that they are addressing.  As an investigator this is something that you have to get used to and even welcome.  API considers it a compliment to know that they know who you are and that they are communicating specifically with you. 

Here is an instance where API used cooking in the kitchen to recreate a situation and see who was there.  In this instance the ingredients for cooking a recipe from scratch was set out in preparation of doing some baking.  Some of the ingredients were put in a bowl.  The investigation equipment was then brought in and set up at the table where the recipe and ingredients were.  As the cooking took place questions were asked in hopes of capturing evps and also the spirit box was set up to be turned on later to see if anyone cared to communicate through it. 

The first thing that was noticed was reaction from the household cat.  All of his hair was standing on end, his tail straight up and puffed out while staring into the living room.  He didn’t make any sound just very intently staring at something that seemed to be moving because not just his eyes, but his head would turn as if he was watching something walking back and forth across the room.  Then he squatted down … leaned back with his ears laid back … then ran in the opposite direction out of the room.  At this time an investigator stepped into the path with hands held out and said “You are not allowed to hurt the animals or mess with them”.  Then the digital recorder was turned on.  The cat then came into the kitchen and laid down under the table and this is where he stayed for the duration.

When the investigator asked who’s here … they were answered through the spirit box … “Charlotte”, “angel to you” by a female voice.   This was quickly followed by a male voice who said “one person”.

When asked by an investigator, “I’m in the kitchen.  What do you want?”  The reply through the spirit box was, “Three of us are cookin’”.  Keep in mind … that’s what was being done in the kitchen … cooking some muffins and all of the ingredients were already laying there on the table.

When asked this question … “Can you tell me what color this chair is”?  The reply through the spirit box was … “yella” in a male voice …  “I lost mine.” “Can you look?” female voice.  The chair in question was a red step stool seat.  The kind we would find in our grandparents house 30-40 years ago.  It’s a chair but has fold down steps that can be folded out and used as a step stool.  While the answer was the wrong color for the one in use … maybe theirs was yellow and they were missing it.

Then things took a different turn.  This is being included to show how there can be different personalities present at the same location.  You can even have spirits who are interacting with each other … talking … fighting … name calling … in this instance there was some name calling and they got a little fresh.  I’m going to include the ugly name the investigator was called because it goes along with showing the mindset of the spirit who was talking.  They didn’t identify themselves but it was a male and there is no reference to a time period … just a nasty name and getting fresh.

Since it was a female investigator asking the questions and holding the spirit box and recorder it is assumed the verbal exchange was aimed at her.  This is all coming through the spirit box.   The investigator gets called a “Twat” … then told “change into that” … and “take it off”. 

At this point the same male voice tells someone to “Stop watching!” and is answered by a different male voice that says “Yes Sir!”.

Then the male voice continues saying “Move in” … “Oh Baby … Do you like me”?  This … believe it or not … was followed by a belch through the spirit box.

 

This is what paranormal investigation is about.  Even though there may be a time when answers are not found … there are times when you do find answers.  You know what?  You weren’t crazy.  You weren’t imagining things.  You are sane.

So in this instance a presence was felt and the person was made uncomfortable by it.  There were either two or three spirits helping with the cooking.  “The three of us” could have been the person and two spirits or the person and three spirits.  Sometimes there is no way to be exact and be sure.  Then there was this strong … rather chauvinist (based on the name calling) male presence who was getting fresh.

The offer is always given by API to perform a cleansing of people and/or locations.  The location cleansings are done by what the client wishes … a complete cleansing where all spirits are asked to leave or a cleansing of negativity where only spirits of peace, love and light are allowed to remain … allowing your guardian angels and family members and friends to stay as long as they are not negative. 

The latter is the only type of cleansing that API has done to date.  We have not had a client that wished everything gone … and this makes API very happy.

While this is just a small piece of an investigation, it is important to know that if you are experiencing things you are not alone.  It happens to so many people and many are afraid to talk about it because they are afraid of what people may think of them or that they won’t be believed.  Don’t be afraid.  Reach out for help if you feel you need it.

The Singing Incident

Now you may ask what a singing incident is.  Well, it implies that something happened while someone was singing … and it did!

API has actually investigated two separate incidents that happened while someone was singing.

The first was about a year ago.  There was a group of people playing music and singing.  There were four people total.  Two of these people were playing guitar.  One was playing the bass guitar and the fiddle.  The other was singing and not playing an instrument.  They were all taking turns going around their music circle. 

For those who don’t know what a music circle is here is an explanation.  When musicians are getting together with friends to just have an evening of music … they’re not a band performing … just a group of friends sitting together in a circle of chairs.  This is so they can see and hear each other and they take turns playing and singing by going around the circle to the next person, then the next person … you get the idea.  This was the set up for the evening.

At some point as the evening progressed, a harmonica could be heard playing along with them as they were playing and singing.  Two of the people in the music circle kept getting chills and rubbing their arms.  At times there would be little flashes of light at one of the tables nearby … always flashing at the same table and in the same spot.  Then there was the aroma of a pipe.  The smell of sweet pipe tobacco is pretty unmistakable. 

There was no question of “what” had happened.  That was witnessed by three of the four people who were sitting there.  The question was “who”.  Who had been there?  Who was playing along on their harmonica?  Who was smoking a pipe?   What were those flashes of light?

Upon an investigation and asking questions it was figured out.  One of the people sitting in the music circle that night had a grandfather who played harmonica.  Their grandfather was no longer living but he was there that night sharing and participating in the music circle.  Their grandfather had smoked a pipe for as long as they could remember.  If you have ever been around anyone smoking a pipe you have seen how they keep lighting it as they are smoking.  You would also have noticed the sweet aroma as the tobacco burned in the pipe.  

Who had been there?  It was their Grandfather. 

This person’s grandfather had been there for the last half of the evening.  While he was listening to the music he was smoking his pipe.  That is what the flashes of light were at the table … the pipe being lit.  That is what the sweet tobacco aroma was … him smoking his pipe.  And that is where the harmonica was coming from.  When it was a song he liked he joined in.  It always seemed to be the old bluegrass fiddle tunes and the old country songs that he joined in on.  There was no message given to deliver … just a Grandfather spending the evening with his grandchild (who is a senior adult now), enjoying the music, enjoying his pipe and joining in when the mood struck him.  It brought tears to everyone present, including members of API.

There are many reasons why an investigation might be done.  Sometimes people are frightened by experiences they have had and call for help.  Sometimes they just want to know what is going on. 

Not all experiences are bad ones.  Some are very sweet experiences with someone we love and miss dearly. 

It was such a pleasure for API to be able to participate and provide this information. 

A sweet visit from someone we love. 

That is what we all dream of.
